A través de un mensaje en la red social X, el funcionario mexicano que viajó a la Unión Americana para dialogar con sus homólogos, no adelantó si ha avances sobre un acuerdo que evite la imposición de aranceles a las exportaciones mexicanas a partir del 4 de marzo próximo, pero calificó como “cordial” la reunión de trabajo.
De acuerdo con la publicación, en el encuentro entre Ebrard Casaubón y Lutnick, también estuvo presente el Representante Comercial de Estados Unidos, Jamieson Greer.
El jueves el funcionario mexicano también sostuvo un diálogo con Greer, luego de que el miércoles el presidente estadunidense, Donald Trump, señaló que los aranceles que se impondrían a partir del 1 de abril —que son diferentes a los anunciados para el 4 de marzo para Canadá y Estados Unidos—, se aplicarán el segundo día del cuarto mes de 2025.
El jueves por la mañana el mandatario de la Unión Americana aclaró a través de redes sociales que las tarifas anunciadas para el próximo martes para los socios del T-MEC, cuya razón de aplicación son la migración y el tráfico de drogas, no serán aplazadas.
En otro mensaje, la SE sólo señaló a través de X que el diálogo económico y comercial entre ambas naciones continúa.
