El Presidente Municipal, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, estará participando en la “Feria Smart City Summit & Expo 2025” que se realizará en Taiwán del 18 al 22 de marzo, con el propósito de promover inversiones para Ciudad Juárez.
En una conferencia de prensa en la sala Francisco I. Madero, el alcalde dio a conocer que fue invitado por la Oficina Económica y Cultural de Taipéi, una de las ciudades donde se realizará el evento, además de Kaohsiung.
El edil destacó que es la feria comercial de ciudades inteligentes más grande de Asia y reúne a las principales empresas del área de tecnología de ese continente y de todo el mundo.
Indicó que es un foro de intercambio entre ciudades en áreas como la inteligencia artificial, sostenibilidad, seguridad, movilidad inteligente y demás temas que se encuentran dentro de la agenda para la creación de las metrópolis del futuro.
Mencionó que desde octubre fue invitado y acudirá con la alcaldesa de Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, además participarán en un panel con otros líderes de países como España, Brasil, Estados Unidos, Turquía y Belice.
“Aceptamos la invitación porque es de la Oficina Económica y Cultura del Taipéi, además de que Taiwán genera en Ciudad Juárez 40 mil empleos directos en la industria electrónica y calculamos que entre directos e indirectos son 80 mil empleos. Para mí es muy importante decirles que es relevante acudir porque generan muchísimo empleo, pero si a esto le agregamos el momento que vivimos de las tarifas, aranceles, pues es más importante acudir”, señaló.
El alcalde indicó que los empresarios taiwaneses ya conocen esta ciudad y el objetivo es que sepan que aquí tienen un aliado y que si hubiera algún tipo de tarifa, el Gobierno Municipal vería cómo hacerle para que las empresas se queden en Juárez.
También comentó que al estar en Taiwán podrá aprovechar para visitar los corporativos de empresas más importantes que generan empleo aquí como Wistron, Foxconn, Pegatrón, Inventec y Wiwynn, por lo que ya tiene citas en aquel país.
Señaló que el objetivo de estas visitas es para agradecer por la inversión que hacen en esta frontera y para invitarlos a que sigan invirtiendo en Juárez, además de estrechar relaciones para que se mantengan y ver cómo pueden traer más inversión y generar mayor empleo.
El alcalde acudirá a Taiwán con el director del Instituto Municipal de Investigación y Planeación (IMIP), Roberto Mora Palacios; con el asesor de temas de Informática, Raúl Monárrez y el empresario Octavio Fuentes.
Indicó que además de acudir a la feria y hacer las visitas, también planea conocer las tecnologías en esas ciudades y ver cómo traer algo a la administración.
El alcalde estará participando con una ponencia el 18 de marzo en la “Feria Smart City Summit & Expo 2025” con temas de inversiones que ha hecho el Gobierno Municipal en tecnología y seguridad pública en Ciudad Juárez.
El edil dijo que en esta localidad hay 315 mil 982 empleos de la industria de transformación y más de 40 mil empleos directos son la industria electrónica en la ciudad.
Por su parte, las empresas taiwanesas fabrican componentes electrónicos, automotrices, de computación y son de los proveedores más importantes de Apple y otras marcas internacionales de tecnología.
