El Congreso del Estado de Chihuahua, a través de la Comisión de Derechos Humanos y Atención a Grupos Vulnerables, realizó el cuarto Foro de Opinión sobre la Iniciativa de Ley para la Protección Integral de Personas Periodistas y Trabajadoras de la Prensa del Estado de Chihuahua, el cual tuvo lugar en las instalaciones del a Comisión Estatal de Derechos Humanos en Ciudad Juárez.
La diputada Herminia Gómez, presidenta de la comisión antes mencionada, expresó su agradecimiento con las y los periodistas por su asistencia y su participación, así como con las diputadas y diputados presentes por el interés en esta iniciativa tan importante para garantizar los derechos de quienes ejercen el periodismo.
“En febrero, la comisión aprobó las fechas y sedes donde se llevarían a cabo los foros de opinión, un espacio creado con el objeto de dialogar, reflexionar y proponer, marcando un paso importante hacia la construcción de una ley que asegure la protección integral”, puntualizó la diputada Gómez.
La diputada Nancy Frías resaltó que no podemos permitir que el miedo y la intimidación silencien las voces de quienes tienen la tarea de visibilizar lo que sucede en nuestra sociedad. “Este foro no es solo un trámite legislativo, es un espacio de escucha, de reflexión y de construcción conjunta. Queremos que esta iniciativa surja del diálogo con ustedes, de quienes viven día a día los desafíos de esta profesión. Sus experiencias, preocupaciones y propuestas serán fundamentales para que esta ley responda”, comentó la diputada Frías.
De la misma manera, el diputado Pedro Torres dijo que, en Chihuahua, la protección a periodistas ha sido un tema de gran relevancia debido a los altos niveles de violencia que han afectado nuestra entidad, por eso, los foros que se han llevado a cabo en diferentes ciudades han tenido como objetivo principal recabar opiniones y propuestas para la creación de la Ley para la Protección Integral de Personas Periodistas y Trabajadoras de la Prensa del Estado de Chihuahua.
“Estos encuentros han contado con la participación activa de periodistas, académicos, estudiantes y representantes de la sociedad civil, quienes han aportado diversas perspectivas y sugerencias para fortalecer la iniciativa legislativa”, agregó el legislador.
La diputada Rosana Díaz, iniciadora de la iniciativa en cuestión, comento que una vez aprobada su propuesta en el Pleno del Congreso, se turna a comisión y es ahí donde sus integrantes deciden realizar estos foros en los que las y los diputados buscan escuchar a las personas dedicadas al periodismo, con el fin de enriquecer y de fortalecer esta ley.
Entre las ideas expresadas por los asistentes se dijo que es muy importante enriquecer el concepto de periodista para no dejar fuera a nadie, que la ley debe incluir un apartado para mujeres periodistas, ya que en muchas ocasiones la violencia contra ellas se ejerce diferente que contra los hombres o que es importante contemplar el derecho a vivienda, a prestaciones laborales, a seguros de vida, así como la perspectiva de género y propuestas de seguridad social y publicidad institucional.
Se espera que en próximos días se lleve a cabo el quinto y último foro de opinión programado en Cuauhtémoc, para así dar paso a la siguiente fase que son mesas técnicas de análisis para enriquecer lo que ya está contemplado y ponerlo a consideración de quienes integran el gremio.
