La Comisión de Derechos Humanos y Atención a Grupos Vulnerables del Congreso del Estado, llevó a cabo el segundo Foro de Consulta sobre la iniciativa de Ley para la Protección Integral de Personas Periodistas y Trabajadoras de la Prensa del Estado de Chihuahua.
La convocatoria está dirigida a periodistas, medios de comunicación, organizaciones de la sociedad civil y ciudadanía interesada en la defensa de la libertad de expresión y opinión. Estos espacios buscan fomentar el análisis y la discusión de la iniciativa con el objetivo de fortalecer la seguridad de quienes ejercen el periodismo en la entidad.
Durante el evento, la diputada Herminia Gómez, presidenta de la Comisión, destacó la importancia de un esfuerzo conjunto para garantizar la protección del gremio. “Este es el momento de unirnos y avanzar. La protección de quienes informan no debe estar sujeta a divisiones, sino a un esfuerzo conjunto por el bien de la libertad de expresión en nuestro estado”, afirmó.
Asimismo, hizo un llamado a los periodistas a participar activamente en los foros para identificar, desde su experiencia, las medidas necesarias para su seguridad.
Por su parte, el presidente municipal de Delicias, Ing. Jesús Alberto Valenciano García, agradeció a la diputada Herminia Gómez y al diputado Roberto Carreón por llevar este espacio de diálogo a la región centro-sur, destacando que las conclusiones obtenidas en estos foros podrían generar un impacto a corto, mediano y largo plazo en beneficio del periodismo. Además, instó a los asistentes a aprovechar esta oportunidad para que sus voces sean escuchadas en el Congreso del Estado.
El diputado Roberto Carreón enfatizó la relevancia de la iniciativa, señalando que una ley de este tipo es fundamental para garantizar la seguridad de los periodistas y el ejercicio libre de su labor en Chihuahua, al igual que para proteger la democracia y la sociedad integral.
Con estos foros, el Congreso del Estado busca recopilar opiniones y propuestas que contribuyan a la construcción de un marco legal sólido que brinde garantías reales a periodistas y trabajadores de la prensa en la entidad.
Entre los asistentes se encontraron el Lic. Pedro Alvarado en representación de la Comisión Estatal de los Derechos humanos y regidores municipales.
