Como toda una tradición en Chihuahua, el alcalde Marco Bonilla, recibió en Sacramento, entrada norte de la Capital, a la Cabalgata Villista, donde el edil tomó el estandarte que caracteriza este contingente.
Más de 40 jinetes que llegaron a la zona provenientes de Ciudad Juárez, cabalgaron hasta el Obelisco de Sacramento, ahí se colocó una ofrenda y se realizó una guardia de honor a los que defendieron la ciudad de Chihuahua.
El Alcalde dio la bienvenida a este contingente al reconocer esta tradición tan norteña y chihuahuense.
Dicha tradición es en memoria del aniversario luctuoso de Francisco Villa y a los revolucionarios de la División del Norte, mediante un recorrido a caballo de 600 kilómetros entre Ciudad Juárez y Parral, y en este momento, pasan por la Capital.
Hay que recordar que, este evento inició en el año de 1996, por el señor José Socorro Salcido Gómez, que originalmente fue un recorrido de 27 kilómetros hacia Hidalgo del Parral, y ha crecido en los últimos años. Además, uno de los beneficios es fomentar el turismo y la economía local en los municipios por donde pasa la cabalgata.
