La presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum y el mandatario estadounidense Donald Trump tuvieron una llamada telefónica “muy productiva” la tarde del miércoles 16 de abril.
Así lo informaron ambos jefes de Estado a través de sus redes sociales la mañana de este jueves, quienes no detallaron el contenido de la llamada.
Sheinbaum afirmó que seguirán dialogando para alcanzar acuerdos que beneficien a ambos países.
Ambos presidentes han mantenido conversaciones desde que Trump ganó los comicios el pasado 6 de noviembre de 2024.
En las llamadas anteriores, hablaron sobre migración y medidas contra el tráfico de fentanilo hacia Estados Unidos, incluida la campaña en contra de las drogas que impulsa el gobierno de México.
Sin embargo, las últimas conversaciones se centraron en negociaciones para evitar los aranceles de Trump a los productos mexicanos.
El medio estadounidense The New York Times reveló el mes pasado que en la última llamada que tuvieron Sheinbaum y Trump, la mexicana le habría presentado las acciones para cuidar la frontera y evitar el paso de fentanilo, antes le había enviado los datos al estadounidense y argumentó que los aranceles afectaría este nivel de cooperación.
Trump también mencionó en la misma publicación a través de su red social Truth Social que su reunión con representantes comerciales de Japón había sido “muy productiva”.
