El diputado local, Guillermo “Memo” Ramírez (PRI), se manifestó en contra del reciente cierre de la frontera de nuestro país con los Estados Unidos para la exportación de ganado en pie, alertó que la medida afecta directamente a Chihuahua al ser líder nacional en esta actividad económica.
Ramírez destacó que Chihuahua encabeza la lista de los estados exportadores, pues tan solo en el ciclo 2022-23, envió más de 332 mil cabezas de ganado al vecino país del norte.
“La ganadería es una de las principales actividades económicas de nuestro estado, el cierre de la frontera pone en riesgo el sustento de miles de familias que dependen de ella”, señaló.
Fue el hallazgo de un caso de gusano barrenador en Chiapas, lo que provocó que el Departamento de Agricultura de Estados Unidos, suspendiera el paso de ganado mexicano, por lo que el legislado hizo énfasis en que el caso detectado se encuentra en el sur del país, y aseguró que en Chihuahua se mantienen controles sanitarios estrictos para garantizar la salubridad y buen estado del ganado.
El otrora subcoordinador del Grupo Parlamentario del PRI, señaló que es imperativo que las autoridades federales y estatales trabajen en coordinación para resolver esta situación a la brevedad, pues se debe garantizar que las medidas sanitarias se enfoquen en las regiones afectadas y no perjudiquen a otros estados como Chihuahua que cumplen con los estándares internacionales de sanidad.
Ramírez exhortó a las autoridades competentes a gestionar con sus contrapartes estadounidenses la pronta reapertura de la frontera para salvaguardar la economía y bienestar de los productores chihuahuenses.
